hi.

About me.

I'm always keeping busy with something or another.  I have 3 little kiddos (and a hubby) who are the center of my world!  We're working on our dream home (a century old farmhouse) in the country and loving every minute.  You'll find my blog full of house stuff, kid stuff, work stuff and more.  When I'm not busy being a domestic godess (ha) I'm taking photos, scrapbooking, at the Shoppe or crafting!

About my photography.

Capturing real life.  Fresh.  Contemporary.

I love capturing the little moments and the interactions between families.  Those little moments that all too quickly fade away.  Silly and goofy or serious. Whatever you are. The little details that are unique to every family… especially yours.

Families are important to me. Yours and mine. For that reason I am offering a limited number of sessions per month, including families, children, newborns and maternity.
I am a natural light photographer and will come to you or the location of our choosing.

I specialize in family and child photography.

Session fee $50.

Feel free to contact me for more details and pricing.

About Red Star Studio.

I've always created.  It's in my blood (4 generations of art at least).  I've always doodled and drawn.  I even went to craft shows with my wooden painted crafts!  It's always been something.  I love creating scrapbook pages (which combine my love of photography and my family with my obsession for pretty papers) and mini books.  I've been creating scrapbooking kits for My Scrap Shoppe for a few years now and it's as fun now as it was then!  Lately I've been enjoying embroidery, sewing and bookbinding!

I dubbed my little factory Red Star Studio.  We'll be adding a section at the shoppe to highlight local artisans this winter and I'm busily working on projects to fill that space!  So much fun!

Look for bound books, embroidery patterns, sewn and felt goodies from me soon!

About My Scrap Shoppe.

You can learn more about My Scrap Shoppe here.  I'm usually at the shoppe 2-3 days per week (less in the summer when my kids are out of school and photography takes up a lot of my time).

it’s friday.

yay.

I’m giving myself one more week to be frantic and crazy and unorganized and then I’m buckling down.  I will NOT be doing everything just because I can.  Nope.  I’m going to be present in my own life starting Nov. 15.  My birthday seemed a fitting way to start.

I looked back in my photo folder and I didn’t take ANY pictures of my kids in October.  None.  Seriously pathetic.  So yup.  Changing all that.  Going to slow down and enjoy stuff more.  Do WAY less on the computer.  Get more done around here and be a better wife and mother.  Cool.  Give’r.

Okay, that said, I’ve got the December Art Journal done and I’ll be posting it next week.  I’ll also be sharing tutorials on some elements in the book.  You can still pick up one here or here.  Next year’s kit will include the tutorial in PDF format and be exclusive to purchasers.  (I’ve already got plans for next year!)

Hoping to get another project kit done for December… a 2010 planner.  Woo hoo!  I love nothing more than a good planner!

Have a great weekend everyone.  I’m hoping to make these on Sunday (after I do a teeny tiny bit of work stuff).  I know just where they’re going.

See you Monday.  (Feels weird posting without a picture… oh well)

If you’re feeling scrappy this weekend, then head on over to MSS and join in the online crop.
